Since embarking on my Psychology degree at Bournemouth University, I've worked in a variety of settings including research, dementia care, children and adolescents in care, psychiatry and anxiety-specialist services. Most recently, I worked for Lancashire NHS for just over two years as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. This role allowed me to assist people with stress, anxiety and depression disorders in developing coping strategies based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques. I also loved the responsibility of being my team’s LGBTQ+ Champion during this time, and worked hard to develop resources to improve practitioners' confidence and competency in supporting people from the LGBTQ+ community.
After moving back down to the sunny southwest, I was thrilled to accept the
position of Senior Wellbeing Practitioner. Having experienced mental health
difficulties during university myself, I understand how daunting it can be to
access support. I
wanted to be part of the fantastic team at AUB offering accessible,
non-judgemental support to help others gain the most from their university
experience. As a musician and general arts and crafts enthusiast, I feel very
much at home within the wonderfully creative AUB community, I hope you will
too.
