Overview
Andrew Byrom is an interdisciplinary designer with clients including The New York Times, Sagmeister Inc., Penguin Books, Standard Chartered Bank, The Museum of Latin American Art and The Architecture + Design Museum.
His work has been recognised by the AIGA and the Type Directors Club, and has been exhibited across the US, Europe, and Asia. He is member of the prestigious Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI).
He has presented at ATypI, TypCon, MOCA, Art Center College of Art and Design, the School of the Art Institute Chicago, Kuala Lumpur Design Week and a TEDx talk at UCLA.
Byrom is also an educator with 20+ years experience teaching courses in typography and design history at Central Saint Martins, York St. John University, Northern Illinois University, California State University Long Beach and the University of Southern California.
He is currently a PhD candidate researching historical shifts in typeface design technology and virtual/augmented applications at The University of Reading. He is a founding member of the York Virtual/Augmented Reality Research Group.
