Claire trained at the London Studio Centre and has been dancing and teaching professionally since 2001. As a professional dancer, she has worked for various dance companies but most notably, for Motionhouse where she enjoyed over eight years with the company, helping to create over ten original works and touring globally. In 2012, she established Motionhouse Youth and due to her passion for teaching and working with young people, she was appointed to the role of Lead Artist – Creative Projects and Participation.
After relocating to Dorset in 2016, Claire began a wide range or creative projects and works exclusively as a freelance dance artist, lecturer and performer.
As a juggler of all things creative, her freelance work allows her to continue to create and choreograph digitally whereby she works alongside her partner Dan Tucker, a film maker and landscape photographer. As a passionate teacher, Claire is heavily involved with the BA (Hons) Dance Degree where she teaches various components of the course specialising in Contemporary Technique and Choreography.
As a massage therapist, Claire uses her understanding of touch and the human physiology to help teach partnering skills, contact improvisation and lifting techniques. Claire also became the director of Co-Evo in 2017 and also leads the PDSW’s intermediate drop in technique class.
BA (Hons) Dance
Claire has been commissioned by PDSW to create a solo piece of work for children and their grown ups to be premiered in October 2021. Her Show ‘Plastic Paradiso’ will be an exciting new adventure that will help to raise awareness of plastic pollution.
