Eugenia Popesco is a contemporary visual artist who works within a multi-disciplinary practice, spanning; print, painting, drawing & installation. Her practice is concerned with social histories and landscape. Often finding a voice for these subjects through the transient status and alchemy of the printed image, referencing the hyper mediation of image consumption in relation to documentary and archival research. Responsive to the ever-changing mediation of imagery in the post digital age, Eugenia’s work often takes a multi-disciplinary approach centred around image making. Amongst her use of digital imagery, the hand crafted is essential, imbuing the analogue with a greater personality, or a Folk aesthetic. Eugenia often combines digital with analogue processes, creating a hybridity of making.
Eugenia completed her MA in Fine Art (Print), from the Royal College of Art 2015-2017 (awarded full bursary for study) and BA Illustration at Camberwell College of Art 2012-2015 (first class honours).
