James is a serial entrepreneur who has founded and run multiple companies over a 30-year career. James is the founder and CEO of Kortext, the UK’s leading partner to universities delivering online educational resources to students at over 160 universities across the country and thousands more overseas, supporting online course delivery and improved learning experiences and engagement for students. Prior to Kortext, James was the founder and CEO of Coutts Information Services, a global supplier of services to university libraries across the world and now a part of the Proquest/Clarivate organisation. On selling the Coutts business, James lived and worked in the US for six years, setting up Amazon’s eBook store and working with Google, Microsoft, Barnes and Noble, Apple, and others on their eBook and content scanning and indexing initiatives.
James and family returned the UK in 2013 when he set up Kortext, which now provides services to more than 2,500 universities in over 100 countries. James is also an investor and board member at a number of other technology-focused businesses and loves supporting innovative companies who are focused on redefining their sectors.
Kortext is based in Bournemouth and James lives in Poole with his family, enjoying time on the water, (weather permitting).
