Overview

As an actor, I have worked in TV, film, commercials, radio and theatre. Credits include the Royal National Theatre (all three stages and RNT studio), The Young Vic, West Yorkshire Playhouse, The Gate, The Savoy Theatre, national and international touring to venues of all sizes, as well as studio, set and green screen experience.

I have designed, developed and delivered excellent teaching and assessment for many years in Higher Education, in conservatoire and university settings.

As creative producer, I manage the collaboration across departments, and oversee programming and creative strategy for AUB Productions.

Research

Research Interests and Projects

I am hoping to progress to Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, and I would like to develop my academic career through practice-led research up to doctoral level. This will build on preliminary work I have done through Action Research and scholarship in the area of Clown Pedagogy. I am convinced that actors and acting skills offer tremendous agency to personal and social development; and that they can be used to address contemporary societal challenges, not only through entertainment but also through education and training.

Professional Engagement

Recently worked as a performer with Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company, most recently in The Man who wanted to be a Penguin; with Emerald Ant for B-Side Festival; and as an actor and street theatre director for Salt: a community play for Poole at Lighthouse.
