Since September 2021, I have been the cornerstone of the Student Records function at Arts University Bournemouth and I bring an award-winning mentality to the job.
I lead the Enrolment and Registration functions for onboarding new and continuing students, making sure our Online Enrolment system extracts every legally required nugget of information without accidentally asking for their blood type. I also orchestrate the logistical masterpiece that is Face-To-Face Registration – otherwise known as “herding hundreds of excited-but-confused students into the right place with the right documents while answering 73 questions at once.”
Once the academic year’s in full swing, I run the assessments function across all study levels using WISEflow – a system I now know better than my own Netflix password. I prepare reports for the Examinations and Progression and Awards Boards, ensuring marks are accurate, deadlines are met, and no one’s final grade accidentally becomes an emoji. I also keep the SITS student records system in immaculate order, which basically means I’ve seen every possible way a human can misspell their own name (mine included).
On top of that, I’m a key contact for our growing roster of Academic Partnerships, ensuring enrolments and assessment results are recorded perfectly. I bridge the glamorous gap between Quality Assurance and data entry – which is a polite way of saying I keep everything from descending into chaos.
Favourite daily mantras include: “Just keep chugging on.” or "I don’t rise and shine. I caffeinate and hope for the best."
