Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, I am responsible for the delivery of the University’s People Plan, as aligned to AUB’s Strategy 2030.
I lead the University’s Human Resources (HR) provision, ensuring activities are aligned to AUB’s strategic direction and a comprehensive range of services are delivered in support of the resourcing, recruitment, induction, performance, engagement, wellbeing, retention and reward of its employees and workers.
I am a member of AUB’s Vice-Chancellor's Group (VCG), the senior leadership team responsible for managing and delivering AUB’s Strategy 2030, the six University Initiatives, which are supported by six enabling Operational Plans.
As part of my responsibilities I lead and manage the team of professional HR Partners and a HR Operations team in support of the University’s strategic ambitions, and delivery of the People Plan and I lead on HR employee relations, policy, practice and provision to facilitate the mitigation of legal exposure.
I am also a member of the HR Committee, a sub-group of the Board of Governors, and provide expert input to the Committee as requested and required by the Chair.
I am Secretary to the University’s Remuneration Committee, attended by the Chair of the Board of Governors and Senior Independent Governors and liaise effectively with the Chair of the Committee to ensure its smooth running in accordance with the Terms of Reference.
Additionally, I Chair the University’s Equalities Committee which holds responsibility for the delivery of AUB’s equality, diversity and inclusion plan.
I am a member of the University’s Safeguarding Team and a nominated Safeguarding Officer and a member of the University’s Joint Negotiation and Consultation Committee, building and maintain effective working relationships with the University’s recognised unions: UNISON and UCU.
Finally, I am Secretary for the University’s Promotions Committee, supporting the Vice-Chancellor to deliver the University’s annual process of Associate Professor and Professor promotion.
Prior to working at AUB, I gained extensive private sector experience with companies such as JP Morgan and Abbey Life, developing strategic and operational HR support in the areas of employee relations, organisational restructures, recruitment and resourcing as well as the full spectrum on end to end HR provision.
