Event practitioner and lecturer with experience of teaching event studies and event management at both postgraduate and undergraduate level. Key strengths include a highly developed understanding of contemporary issues and professional practice in both the corporate and cultural event sectors. Working as part of the Bournemouth Film School managing the delivery of the BA (Hons) Events Management degree at AUB. I'm also the Chair of AUB Productions.
I'm the Unit Leader for Events Theory and Practice, Audiences Marketing and Programming, and Work Placement and Strategic Planning. I also teach on Introduction to Event Management, Understanding Events, Event Lab, Client Brief, and Major Event Planning.
Previously at Solent University, I was Unit Leader for Leisure Services Consultancy Project, Contemporary Issues in Events Management, Perspectives on Arts and Cultural Festivals, Strategic Management for the Air Travel and Tourism Industry, Work-based Professional Studies and Experience Design. I also taught on Music Festival Management, Professional Practice for Tourism and Events, and Business Practice for Tourism and Events, and tutored work placement students studying for BA (Hons) International Business Management.
Whilst at De Montfort University, I worked with students who were studying BA (Hons) and Joint (Hons) Arts and Festivals Management, M.Sc. Cultural Events Management, BA (Hons) Music Technology and Performance and BA (Hons) Performing Arts. I taught a number of modules including Festivals and Events Practice, Media Industry Management and Research Methods for both undergraduates and postgraduates.
