I began teaching in HE immediately after graduating from Cardiff School of Art and Design. Over the last two decades, I have taught at a number of different institutions whilst maintaining my practice as a painter and sculptor. I have taught at AUB since 2016, primarily on the BA (Hons) Fine Art course.
I am interested in the pre-/multi-perspectival space of early Renaissance painting and its iconography in relation to the virtual, screen-based spaces of contemporary life. My work is an attempt to make the dialectical nature of my paintings and of Bournemouth analogous to one another.
I am a member of a Painting research group with colleagues at AUB, as well as the artist collective New British Art, based in South Wales, which has secured a number of grants from the Arts Council of Wales. As a part of this group I was shortlisted for the Venice Biennale in 2011.
