I trained and worked commercially as a 2D animator and animation director in the UK. But I have also worked in fashion illustration and brand development in Paris and London. As Level 5 Year Tutor on BA (Hons) Animation Production, I am responsible for teaching research methods and visual storytelling, supervising work placements and live briefs, as well as developing and delivering micro credential content and strategies.
I have been working at AUB since 2018. I am currently BA (Hons) Animation Production Level 5 Year Tutor; Level 5 Animation Unit Leader for Production Research and Development (developing film pitches for Level 6 production); and the Animation Unit Lead for the Level 4 Synergies cross-disciplinary micro credential in research methods for maker culture.
I was previously MA & BA (Hons) Animation Course Leader at London Metropolitan University (2013-2018); Cluster Leader for Integrated Media (2012-2013) and BA (Hons) Animation Course Leader (2006-2013) at University of Bedfordshire; BA (Hons) Animation Level 4 Year Tutor at the Arts University Bournemouth (2004-2006).
I published my first book - Animation in Context, A Practical Guide to Theory and Making - with Bloomsbury (2016).
My current research focuses on interdisciplinary design thinking; applying cultural theory and practice from film and animation to architectural design and biomedical science; developing knowledge exchange and micro credential initiatives.
