Mehjabeen Patrick

Mehjabeen is the Director of Finance at AUB

She is an accomplished executive with over 25 years of experience working in finance and investment space at leadership level. Over this time, Mehjabeen has amassed a wealth of experience of running financial departments and teams, building and implementing financial and business strategies, raising and managing investment funds, strategic and organisational development, working with private and public sector partners and bringing commerciality and innovation to the creative sector. Mehjabeen has raised multimillion-pound funds from public and private sector to invest in creative companies. She has vast experience of working with national and international organisations including the United Nations and European Commission and has served on the European Commission’s Access to Finance OMC group as the UK representative. She is also the founding member of the European Creative Business Network, founded in 2008.

Prior to joining AUB, Mehjabeen worked as CFO of EIT culture and Creativity– a European Union-backed Europe wide organisation aiming to support and invest in Creative sector including investing in creative education.

Previously, Mehjabeen worked at Creative UK as a Chief Finance Officer and later as Chief Investment Officer, growing it from a regional to a national organisation and a trusted and only creative sector specialist investor in the UK for early to scale-up companies. Before that Mehjabeen worked as Director of Finance for United Nations Association and Stakeholder Forum – an international environmental NGO. At both these organisations, she gained valuable experience of working with multinational and multi government organisations from across the world.

Before this, Mehjabeen worked as a senior banker for the world’s first and only bank for women – First Women Bank. At the bank, she led regional teams and help grow the bank in its early stages of development. Mehjabeen has an MBA from University of Exeter with majors in Corporate Finance and Financial Management and an MSc in Defence and Strategic Studies.

In addition to her day job, Mehjabeen is on the board of various organisations and small businesses including Social Tech Trust and European Creative Business Network, as well as a member on the British Design Fund Investment Committee and chair of Bristol and Bath Regional Capital City funds’ Investment Advisory Committee.
