Rob is a first-year tutor and specialises in technical and practical practice, with a strong understanding of the digital process.
Rob's passion for photography began on the sunny beaches and rolling hills of Dorset, where he developed a keen eye for capturing the beauty of natural landscapes. After completing his foundation studies at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design, Rob went on to earn his BA (Hons) in Photography and Digital Imaging.
With boundless creativity and technical mastery, Rob turns the mundane into the extraordinary. His thoughtful use of light, color, and composition imbues ordinary scenes and objects with an ethereal, otherworldly atmosphere. Rob captures fleeting moments and overlooked details, freezing them in time to reveal their quiet poignancy.
With over 15 years of experience in the advertising industry, Rob brings his artistic vision and technical expertise to a diverse range of commercial projects. His portfolio demonstrates versatility across many disciplines including automotive, lifestyle, still life, landscape, CGI, film, and stop motion.
In recent years Rob has completed an MA in Commercial Photography and focuses his time on educating and inspiring the next generation of photographers. By sharing his considerable industry knowledge and experiences, he aims to prepare students for successful and meaningful careers within the industry.
Besides following his own practise and teaching Rob still regularly produces advertising campaigns, over the years, lending his talents to major brands such as VW, Sony, Honda, Adidas, HSBC, Canon, EDF Energy, Canal Plus and more. He continues to seek out new creative challenges and strives to capture unique perspectives for every client. Though his subject matter varies, Rob's photographs are united by his signature atmospheric style.
Rob has been a Senior Lecturer at AUB since October 2022. Prior to this, he'd been a Visiting Tutor since 2015.
Much of Rob's recent work focuses on time and space, this documentary approach is a shift from his usual commercial practice.
